Pop Up Serve June 8 Weekend

The best way to get involved this June 8 weekend is with The Living City Project. They will be focusing on removing trees and debris in the Wagner Ford area.

There may or may not be Salem leadership in the area. All the details you need are on TLCP website at https://declare.org/livingcityprojectinfo .

Here are the options:
Regardless of when you serve wear pants, gloves, and boots. This will be dirty work!
Ages 14+ recommended, minors must be accompanied by a parent / guardian.

  • Harrison Township needs trucks and trailers to haul out debris!
There are huge piles of brush and construction debris in front of many properties around the Wagner Ford area. The township would love help removing them and has opened up a landfill near 133 Forest Park Drive for you to drop debris and brush for free—TWO SEPARATE PILES PLEASE. Brush pile first, debris pile on the higher parking lot. You will need a truck and trailer, shovels etc helpful. Skidloaders, loaders and dump trucks welcome as well. Go into the neighborhood with a team you assemble yourself whenever—just be safe!
  • Volunteer with Samaritan’s Purse from Living Word Church
Every Monday - Saturday teams meet at Living Word Church (926 E National Rd, Vandalia) at 7:30am and 12:30pm to head out to homes that still have work to be done. They have tools so anyone can jump in! You can register ahead of time at spvolunteer.org. This is a Christian organization but of course anyone can go serve with them!
  • Join us Saturday at 8:30am for Truck Day off Wagner Ford!
Cleaning up is more fun together, right?? That’s why we are scheduling another coordinated mass cleanup day in the Wagner Ford neighborhood for this Saturday at 8:30am. Please register below and indicate if you have a truck, trailer, shovel, skidloader or other equipment—we do also need volunteers without trucks to help load so all can join! Haul all debris and brush to temporary landfill near 133 Forest Park Drive. Brush pile first, debris pile on the higher parking lot.
    - Park ALL CARS at EC Gentleman’s Club (2213 Wagner Ford Rd, Dayton). Drive trucks and trailers directly into the neighborhood across from Hotel Dayton (2301 Wagner Ford Rd, Dayton).
Other neighborhoods may express other needs in the days ahead, but those are the big opportunities for now. Let’s do it!
