About Salem

What We Believe

Salem Church of God is a non-denominational body in the mainstream of Protestant Christianity. We are part of a group of independent congregations that associate together in a movement known as the Church of God with general offices in Anderson, Indiana, www.chog.org.

We believe that salvation comes through a personal faith in Jesus Christ as our Savior. We believe in the Holy Trinity: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit and in the deity of Christ, His virgin birth, death and glorious resurrection and His imminent second coming. We believe the Bible to be inspired and the authoritative Word of God and that personal faith is to be lived out in the context of authentic Biblical community—God’s Church.

At Salem Church of God, we believe that faith in Christ makes a difference in daily living.

Our Ministry Efforts Are Aimed at Fulfilling This Calling

To REACH people far from God

To NURTURE believers to grow up in Christ

To INSPIRE the next generation toward faith

And to help SOLVE the problems of our broken world

Our Purpose

Salem exists to help people experience the transforming love of Jesus Christ and to lead them to express that love to others who will also be transformed.

Our purpose mirrors the great commandment recorded in

Matthew 22:37-40 (NIV)...

Jesus replied: "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with

all your soul and with all your mind.' this is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments."
